| Fundraisers for P.S. 234 and Washington Market
School A weeks vacation in Bali will be on the block at P.S. 234s annual auction this month, and a Tribeca director will screen his home-grown film, "Dinner Rush," at a fundraiser for the Washington Market School. P.S. 234s event, on Friday, April 19 from 7 to 10 p.m., will take place at the school at Greenwich and Chambers streets, with live music, food from local restaurants and drinks. In addition to the Bali vacation (at a fully staffed house a few blocks from the beach), auction items include spa treatments, yoga classes, a signed and framed Derek Jeter jersey, gift certificates from local businesses, cooking classes and birthday parties. The silent auction begins at 7 p.m. and the live auction is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. For more details on auction items, go to www.ps234.org. To donate goods or services, visit the web site or contact Elyn Rosenthal at 358-1183 or brrstudio@earthlink.net. Proceeds support art, music and science classes and other student needs. The "Dinner Rush" screening to benefit the Washington Market School will take place on April 8, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Tribeca Grand. The evening will include cocktails and an audience discussion with the director, Bob Giraldi, and producer, Patti Greaney, who live together in Tribeca and whose daughter attended the school. Giraldi shot the film, about a Tribeca restaurant, at Gigino, his restaurant on Greenwich Street. His short film set in Tribeca, "The Routine," which debuted at this years Sundance Film Festival, will also be shown. Tickets are $65 per person.
