BPC Compost Bins Await Your Food Scraps

Want to help the planet and nourish Battery Park City’s beautiful parks? There are three compost bins in the neighborhood waiting to put your throwaway food scraps to good use, and keep them out of landfills. (It is estimated that one-third of landfill garbage is made up of compostable materials that contribute to climate-warming methane gases.) Find those containers at: Gateway Plaza, near 395 South End Ave.; the lower level of the North Esplanade at Chambers and River Terrace; and Battery Park City Parks office, 75 Battery Pl.
