The City Needs You: To Help Count Trees
The Parks Department is looking for thousands of New Yorkers for Tree Count! 2015. Volunteers will count and map every single tree on every side of every one of the city's 130,000 streets.
No prior expertise is necessary. Volunteers will receive training and tools to collect data. For more information about the tree census and how to sign up, go to nyc.gov/parks/treescount or contact TreesCount@parks.nyc.gov.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to earn prizes, such as Trees Count apparel and merchandise, tickets to sporting and cultural events and more.
