Collaborative Work Space Launch

Lower Manhattan HQ, an all-purpose work space, meeting and social hub aimed at Downtown’s tech and media professionals, is opening at 150 Broadway on July 1, with a big warm-up this week. The space is hosting a festival filled with free workshops, parties, meals and networking opportunities.

The festival, called #OFFSITE, features a variety of programs on work/life balance, the future of work, building a company culture and more, all day Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

It begins on Wednesday at 8 a.m., when visitors can take part in a meditation session hosted by The Path NYC, which teaches ancient meditation techniques in a modern way. An “innovation lunch” on Thursday at 1 p.m. will include a summer BBQ meal provided by Lonestar Empire, a vendor from the Smorgasburg festival in Brooklyn. Panelists from city startups including Namely, Liquid Talent, and DoSomething.org will discuss company culture. There’s dinner and a party that evening.

A “final countdown” party will be held Friday evening with music and snacks. Crocheted yarn sculptures and creatures by New York-based artist Olek will also be on hand.

This is just some of what #OFFSITE has to offer. For the full list of events go to www.offsitelmhq.splashthat.com.

The 12,500-square-foot space, run by the Alliance for Downtown New York, will accommodate as many as 140 people. Companies and individuals alike can become members, and drop-ins can also work at the space for $30 per day.
