The Emmet Cohen Trio

The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center is holding the second concert in its 2018-2019 Jazz in Progress series, featuring The Emmet Cohen Trio finalists from the DC Jazz Festival’s DCJazzPrix emerging band competition. The trio is composed of Emmet Cohen (Piano), Joey Ranieri (Bass), and Evan Sherman (Drums).

The Emmet Cohen Trio is a 2018 DCJazzPrix™ Emerging Band Competition finalist. American jazz pianist and composer Emmet Cohen has appeared in the Newport, Monterey, and North Sea jazz festivals, among others, and at many music venues, including Rose Hall and the Kennedy Center. Cohen has also played in nightspots, such as the Village Vanguard, the Blue Note, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Birdland, Jazz Standard, Ronnie Scott's, and Jazzhaus Montmartre.
