The final stage in the construction of the new Bogardus Plaza at Reade, between Hudson Street and West Broadway, is beginning soon and the fence around the old park will be taken down.

The Friends of Bogardus Plaza are offering neighbors a chance to take plant material from the garden on Sunday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

There will be  a board member at the plaza with shovels for those who need them.
