Halloween Screening of Little Shop of Horrors (Director's Cut) + Costume Contest

Schimmel Center celebrates Halloween by hosting a screening of the rarely seen Director’s Cut of the cult classic 1986 musical film Little Shop of Horrors on Tuesday, October 30 at 7:30 p.m. Four-time Emmy award winning director and puppeteer Frank Oz will give a post-screening Q&A session. Pre-show activities, including a costume contest, begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Schimmel Center lobby, 3 Spruce St. A cash bar is available for those 21 and older.

The iconic film stars Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene, Vincent Gardenia, and John Candy with a special appearance by Steve Martin, and tells the story of meek flower shop assistant Seymour who pines for his co-worker Audrey. During a total eclipse, Seymour discovers an unusual plant he names Audrey II, which feeds only on human flesh and blood, and attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling store. After a feeding accident gone wrong, Seymour must come up with more creative ways to feed the increasingly bloodthirsty plant.
