Love, Loss and Longing in War: Ireland 1985

The award-winning play, The Long Wet Grass, by Seamus Scanlon, Librarian at City College's Center for Worker Education, Cunard Building, 25 Broadway, will be presented again at the Center for Worker Education on April 4. This matinee performance by the Cell Theater Company begins at 2.30 pm and stars Paul and Anna Nugent and is directed by Brian Reager.
Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion on violence, Northern Ireland, women in war and the writing process. This special matinee performance is sponsored by QUEST which is communal learning experience for adults designed to expand one's intellectual and social world.
The panel discussion will be lead Dr. Danielle Zach, Acting Director of Human Rights Studies at City College and Frances S. Patai Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Worker Education. Carolyn Maguire from QUEST will also be a panelist as well as the actors and author.
The Long Wet Grass is part of The McGowan Trilogy which won awards for Best Actress, Best Director and Best Production in the annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival of New Plays in New York in 2014.
