Update 11/14/21: Police say they arrested a suspect, David Gooden, 46, of Brooklyn and charged him with three counts of robbery.

Police are looking for a suspect who they say committed a series of MetroCard robberies against women in Downtown subway stations, each time grabbing the victim and threatening her life.

NYPD video shows what police say is the suspect grabbing and robbing a woman in the Whitehall Street station.

Police say that on Nov. 2, at 10:15 a.m. the suspect grabbed a woman, 32, on the mezzanine of the Whitehall “N” and ”R” station, and threatened to kill her before taking her MetroCard. The next morning he allegedly reappeared at the station, around 6:30 a.m., and grabbed and threatened a 78-year-old woman before taking her card. Just minutes later, police say, the suspect showed up at the Rector Street “1” station, and again grabbed and threatened a victim, this time a 39-year-old woman, before taking her MetroCard and fleeing.

The video of the suspect is from the first robbery.

Police are asking anyone with information on these incidents to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline, 1-800-577-8477.
