Man Victimized Twice in Financial District Mugging Incident
No sooner had a victim chased after a man who mugged him in the Financial District Thursday afternoon, Dec. 18, he discovered that he was being robbed again by another thief.
The 26-year-old victim, an employee of Union Beer Distributors in Brooklyn, told police that he was working on his iPad at the corner of Hanover Square and Stone Street at about 4:40 p.m. when a man punched him, grabbed the iPad and fled west on Stone Street. Catching up to the mugger, the victim managed to push him, but stopped when he realized he had left his iPhone behind on a ledge, cops reported.
When the victim turned around, he spotted another man taking his cell phone and fleeing east on Stone Street, he told police.
Both devices were turned off and the victim could not track them, police said.
