Starting in January, Battery Park City will roll out its slew of hundreds of classes and activities for children and adults of all ages.

There is chess, tennis and swim lesson lessons, storytelling, live musical performances, and music and art for preschoolers. A yoga class is popular with parents of newborns.

Like to sing? An adult chorus directed by Church Street School for Music and Art is open to all. Want something more active? How about Zumba, boxing, hatha yoga, Bounce Fit Cardio, or badminton  (shuttlecocks and rackets provided)?

Especially for seniors, there is a group exercise for balance, coordination exercises, and strength training, an instructor-guided morning meditation, and a drop-in center for conversations, informal card and board games.

Special programs are "Celebrating Portugal," on Saturday, Jan. 12, a musical journey for the family with pianist Renato Diz. Before the performance, kids can create your own Lisbon inspired azulejo tiles. And on Tuesday, Jan. 15, there is "Woman's Werk"  a talk and meet-and-greet featuring a women’s panel of today’s gig economy pros.
