Remembering Fat Tuesday's and Betty Carter

Tribeca Performing Art Center’s Lost Jazz Shrines series is dedicated to restoring the memory of legendary New York City jazz venues thorough remembrance and celebration. The legacy of jazz venue Fat Tuesday’s and legendary performer Betty Carter (at right) will be celebrated on Friday, May 4, at 8:30 pm. The concert will be preceded by a free panel at 7 pm featuring a conversation with Marc Cary (Musical Director) and Willard Jenkins (Artistic Director of Jazz Programming) about his experience with Betty, including his Fat Tuesday debut performance with Betty, and her enduring influence.
