Woman Punched by Cyclist on Water Street

Police are looking for a man they say punched a woman in the face as he rode past her on a Citi Bike on Water Street.

The victim, 56, was walking north on Water, near Wall, around 9:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, when the alleged attacker struck her with his fist, then continued riding, police said. The Daily News identified the victim as Criminal Court Judge Phyllis Chu, attacked while walking to court on Centre Street. Police say the victim sustained swelling to the left side of her mouth and refused medical treatment.
