10 Corso Como Gallery and Fondazione Sozzani present The World Press Photo 2019 exhibition through August 25.

Considered the world’s leading competition for press photographers, photojournalists, and documentary photographers, the annual photo contest awards photographers for the best images contributing to the past year of visual journalism. This year, the contest saw 4,738 photographers from 129 countries enter 78,801 images. An independent jury selected 43 photographers from 25 countries.

The World Press Photo of the Year 2019 was awarded to John Moore (United States) for his picture Crying Girl on the Border in the “Spot News” category, depicting a Honduran toddler crying as she and her mother are taken into custody by US border officials in McAllen, Texas.
