When Edgar Rodriguez, a 28-year-old Florida man, attempted to buy several thousand dollars worth of musical equipment at J & R Music World on Park Row on Oct. 29, the staff suspected that he was using a fraudulent credit card and called the police.
Upon their arrival, police said they found that Rodriguez was actually carrying 108 different fraudulent credit cards, along with two forged Wyoming drivers’ licenses. Rodriguez was arrested and charged with identity theft, forgery, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, and 110 counts of possession of a forged instrument. “I’ve never seen that many cards in a case like this,” said a police spokesman. “Clearly this was his job.”
