Wild Ride Ends in Cop Car Smash-Up
POSTED OCTOBER 21, 2008: A Brooklyn teen’s unlicensed ride behind the wheel came to an abrupt end Monday afternoon when he planted the nose of his cousin’s car into a parked police car on Broadway.

After admitting earlier this year that virtually none of its deadlines or budget predictions for the redevelopment of the World Trade Center site were realistic, the Port Authority released a much-anticipated report showing just how far behind and over budget it really is.

  A New Urgency in Classroom Search
POSTED OCTOBER 3, 2008: Parents hold out hope that classrooms can be carved out of offices at the south end of Battery Park City, to be vacated next spring. But Department of Education officials say those classrooms can not be readied by the start of the next school year, when crowding is expected to be intense.
     
  Martinis to Displace Tribeca Pushcarts?
POSTED OCTOBER 3, 2008: It appears the vendor garage at 293 Church Street may have to let go of its hardscrabble past, and embrace $13 martinis. A Portland, Ore., restaurateur intends to turn the space into a bar/lounge called Honoria Drawing Room.

Rezoning Proposed in North Tribeca
