Oh, Christmas Tree! A Look at Tribeca's Post-Holiday Streetscape

In the video below, we look at the post-holiday tradition of trashing trees on New York City sidewalks, as seen on the streets of Tribeca.

Those who have yet to discard their trees can bring them to one of two Lower Manhattan MulchFest sites until Sunday, Jan. 10. Downtown drop-off sites are in Tribeca at Bogardus Garden at Hudson Street between Reade and Chambers and in Battery Park City, near South End Avenue and Liberty Street. The Department of Sanitation asks that all lights, ornaments, and netting be removed before dropoffs.

There are also 30 chipping sites around the city where anyone can bring home a bag of free mulch for their own garden. Free mulch collection bags are provided at all chipping sites.
