"The Brooklyn Bridge" (acrylic on paper 7 x 8.6 inches) by Michele Telari
acrylic on paper - inch 7 x 8.6
Italian artist Michele Telari sees New York City differently from most of us. For him, our famous edifices--from the Brooklyn Bridge to the Empire State Building--are always vaguely hidden, drenched in rain, muted. The paintings in Telari's first New York solo exhibition, "Hidden Forms," are elegant and atmopheric, never failing to capture that moment we might have missed.
"His painterly hand drifts into abstraction as Manhattan’s monumental landmarks," curator Naera Kim says of Telari's work, "[and] fade and transform into ethereal lines and monochromatic colors."
