Scene from "The Realm"
The sixth Americas Film Festival of New York is opening on Thursday, June 13 for a free nine-day run at two Downtown locations—City College Downtown [1] at the Cunard Building, 25 Broadway, and the Museum of the American Indian, 1 Bowling Green.
All the movies are free.
The Festival offers a wealth of shorts, documentary and feature films from South America, Central America and North America, rarely seen here. The stories are equisitely told—funny, sad and moving and offer a glimpse into cultures and experiences unknown to most New Yorkers.
Click here [2] for a complete schedule and description of films.
The festival is a project of the Division of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Center for Worker Education of City College of New York (CUNY), in collaboration with the National Museum of the American Indian.
