Police are looking for an electronics-stealing thief they say has struck Downtown food establishments four times recently.
Sweets By Chloe, 181 Front St., became the suspect’s victim twice on Sunday, Sept. 15, police said, when he first entered the store “by unknown means” around 1:40 a.m. and took $1,400 worth of tablets. He returned shortly before midnight and lifted $1,200 worth of electronics, including an HP Chromebook, cell phone and iPad, according to police.
Police say the suspect broke a window of the Schilling Restaurant & Bar, 109 Washington St., at 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and stole $500 and three iPads.
Just after midnight on Friday, Oct. 4, a worker at Tajin Restaurant, 85 Greenwich St., saw the man break a window to get in and grab the cash register, according to police, who say the employee confronted the suspect, who then dropped the register and fled.
