A man's neck was slashed during a robbery Saturday night in the Franklin Street 1 subway station in Tribeca.
According to police, the suspect approached the victim, 55, on the northbound platform around 8:40 p.m. and demanded money. After the man handed over two cell phones and $7, the suspect, described only as a black male in a hoodie, cut the victim in the neck before fleeing. The victim, who police said sustained a four-inch cut to the left side of his neck, was removed from the station by stretcher and taken to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Police said the man was expected to survive. No other information on his condition was available.
As of Tuesday night, no arrests had been made.
