Taylor Swift is trying to make a clean sweep of the tidiness problems outside her $18 million Tribeca townhouse.
The superstar singer had racked up 32 Sanitation Department tickets, as first reported [1] by the New York Post. As a result, a person with knowledge of the Swift’s Franklin Street building told the Trib, a new property manager was hired to make sure the sidewalk in front of the building stayed garbage-free. And so it has, according to recent periodic checks by the Trib. City records show her building has not been ticketed since Jan. 24.
Inspectors wrote $3,010 worth of summons for sidewalk litter since January, 2018, according to city records. Swift lawyers managed to get two $100 tickets thrown out.
Inspectors had cited the building for napkins, paper bags and wrappers, cigarette butts and other debris on the sidewalk. But Swifties are laying the blame on paparazzi and fans who hang out in front of the building, the Post said. “It’s probably the fans waiting for her and smoking while they’re bored,” said one. “She doesn’t even smoke!”
Swift bought the townhouse in 2017 and owns two units in the building next door, including an 8,000-square-foot penthouse she purchased in 2014.
A representative for Swift declined the Trib’s request for comment.
