Man Caught at Taylor Swift's Tribeca Building Trying to Get In, Police Say

Taylor Swift’s Tribeca home has been struck again.

Police said a 31-year-old Virginia man was reported by a witness driving the wrong way down Franklin Street, toward Hudson around 3:15 a.m. Thursday morning when he hit reverse, hopped the curb and struck a porta potty. He then got out, police said, and tried unsuccessfully to enter the building at 155 Franklin St. before being arrested. The man, identified by police as Morgan Mank of Ashburn, Va., yanked off the intercom panel during a wild struggle to get in, according to TMZ, whose sources said he was “mumbling about Taylor Swift” and telling police he wouldn’t leave until he met her.

Police said Mank was taken to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital for evaluation. He was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Swift owns three apartments in the building, and the $18 million townhouse next door. It is not clear whether she was home during this latest incident. 

Multiple stalkers have targeted Swift’s building. Among them, Hank Johnson, 52, was arrested in April 2021 and charged with trespassing after a 911 caller reported him inside the building. In 2018, Roger Alvarado of Florida, who had climbed a ladder to break into the second floor of Swift’s townhouse, was taking a nap inside when cops nabbed him. He served six months, then broke in again, a month after his release.
