Tribeca's 'Ghostbusters Firehouse' Is the Setting for a Superfan Wedding

It was the dream wedding come true on Saturday for Ghostbusters superfans Jason Rucci and Ashley Bastedo. “Today we’re gathered here to witness a truly special ceremony with the union of  Jason and Ashley before all of the Ghostbuster universe,” the ceremony’s officiant announced, as the Brooksville, Fla., couple, fully outfitted in ghost-vanquishing garb and gear, faced each other outside Tribeca’s Ghostbuster Firehouse (aka Ladder 8).

There they were pronounced man and wife before a cheering, equally busterized crowd, all enthusiasts of the 1984 film classic that turned the firehouse into ghostfighting headquarters. The wedding took place two days after the annual “Ghostbusters Day,” which celebrates the anniversary of the original film’s theatrical premiere. This was the third anniversary gathering at the North Moore Street tourist mecca, and “we’ve been to all of them,” the bride said proudly.
